General Information

The library, specialized in tourism and related areas, was established in 1967 as an initiative of Professor Raúl Arturo Armas Díaz (†) when the Guatemalan Institute of Tourism (INGUAT) was created. In 1990, its facilities and public services were expanded. Later, on August 27, 2001, in accordance with Directorate Agreement No. 324-"A", the library was officially named "Raúl Arturo Armas Díaz Library" in honor of its founder, who served the institution for 36 years. It continues to operate in the lobby of the INGUAT building, located at 7ª Avenida 1-17, Zone 4, a few meters from the Penitentiary Bridge.
