The Guatemalan Institute of Tourism (INGUAT), in coordination with the Ministry of Education, has created this guide aimed at Guatemalan students to help them learn more about their country and appreciate its history, customs, traditions, and cuisine. It also explains why Guatemala is part of the world’s megadiverse countries. The guide further introduces the importance of tourism for the country, describes the types of tourism practiced, highlights activities, tourist attractions, and the employment opportunities generated by tourism in our country. Finally, it explains what it means to be a good host and why it's important to warmly welcome visitors. Upon completing the guide, participants will receive a recognition diploma and a membership card accrediting them as hosts of our great home, Guatemala.
