The INGUAT provides support through a continuous training program for government institutions, the private tourism sector, host communities, journalists, and tourism students.
The training sessions are mostly led by professionals and technicians in the tourism industry, primarily through the Technical Institute of Training and Productivity (INTECAP). However, for specialized topics, they are conducted by other entities or with expert national and international trainers.
Some of the topics covered include: • Tourism Culture • Customer Service for Tourists • Tourism Marketing • History of Guatemala • Community Tour Guide Training • Tourism Culture for Children • Development of Municipal Tourism Projects
The training program is designed based on the requirements received through the Departmental Tourism Tables and the Tourism Segments and Products Tables, which derive from the identification of local actors' needs. These requests are analyzed by INGUAT and discussed in the Tourism Training Table.
